History

During the initial recovery period just after World War II, Taiwan had a very weak industrial foundation with poor machinery equipment and capacity for manufacturing. There was also a severe shortage of skilled technicians to serve the industrial sector’s needs. The industry, along with the rest of the Taiwan’s economy was in complete disarray. Under such dismal conditions, visionaries from both the government and private sector saw the need for some leadership and guidance to help the industrial sector develop and grow- the Industry Association was therefore jointly created to meet those needs.
